Korea Blockchain Week 2024 was a massive success. Aethir co-hosted and spoke at 18 exciting events spanning various key topics, including DePIN, Web3, AI, gaming, and the future of blockchain technology. We had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with dozens of industry leaders, rising stars, esteemed professionals, and colleagues from the blockchain industry’s vital sectors.

Let’s take a look at Aethir’s highlights from Korea Blockchain Week, which took place in Seoul, South Korea, from September 1 to 7, 2024.

Kicking-Off Korea Blockchain Week With Aethir: September 2-3

On September 2, Mark Rydon, our co-founder, joined the Is Crypto the Currency for AI? panel discussion alongside representatives from Delysium, Filecoin, Theoriq, and Arweave to discuss the implications and possibilities carried by digital currency in the context of the AI sector. Numerous AI platforms are already implementing crypto tokenomics as an integral part of their daily operations, allowing them to create multifunctional utility tokens that power their respective ecosystems. Cryptocurrency transcends the limitations of fiat currency because it’s way more versatile and empowers users to engage in a suite of activities such as protocol governance, transactions, execution of smart contracts, staking, tokenizing real-world assets, and more. For the AI sector, crypto carries unprecedented possibilities.

Our CEO, Daniel Wang, shared the stage with our colleagues from GamerHash AI and Internet Computer Protocol during the DeAI & Web3 Media Unconf event to discuss the exciting intersection of AI and Internet Computer Protocol’s technology with a particular focus on the benefits of deploying AI on a censorship-resistant and globally distributed network. Decentralization is critical for successfully implementing AI models that genuinely make a difference and enhance people's everyday lives worldwide. With the help of blockchain solutions, AI enterprises and platforms can leverage distributed infrastructure to build and launch their ambitious platforms in a secure and censorship-proof manner.

During the Exploring the DeSci Landscape panel, Aethir’s Mark Rydon had the opportunity to discuss Decentralized Science (DeSci), one of the key emerging narratives in the Web3 industry with AminoChain, NobleBlocks, and GenomesDAO. DeSci refers to the use of blockchain technology and its essential elements, such as crypto tokens, NFTs, and decentralized autonomous organization, to make various aspects of scientific research and collaboration more open, incentivized, and community-driven. With the help of blockchain technology, DeSci is transforming funding, data sharing, publishing, and collaboration in science.

Aethir’s Ecosystem Lead, Kartik Jain, joined an exciting panel called The Intersection of AI & Gaming, which included representatives of DeFimans, Narra, iAgent, Yuliverse, and Kaisar. The participants engaged in a dynamic discussion regarding the intersection of AI and gaming in the Web3 sector and the massive growth opportunities for gaming projects leveraging AI solutions to improve gaming experiences and create breathtaking gaming worlds.

At the State of Web3 Gaming VIP Dinner, Mack Lorden, Aethir Edge’s Strategy Lead, presented our flagship cloud computing partner device, Aethir Edge, which is the only official device for mining ATH tokens. Mack talked about the successful Aethir Edge public sales rounds through which over 25,000 devices were distributed to community members worldwide as well as the device’s operating mechanics and its role in the Aethir DePIN stack. The event featured numerous high-profile Web3 industry leaders, including CARV, Light Node Ventures, and Sophon as our co-hosts.

Furthermore, we co-hosted Play Web3 Daytime Lounge, a B2B meeting event together with Sophon, Tophash, ZKSync, MetaGravity, Xsolla, and XPLA, where our team had the chance to engage in deep conversations with partners and colleagues concerning different aspects of the Web3 industry, the impact of AI and DePIN, along with future collaboration opportunities.

Even More Exciting Events With Aethir: September 4-6

At Open House #AI, Aethir’s Co-founder Mark Rydon joined the Let’s Democratize AI panel for a fruitful discussion on the transformative potential of AI and how to make AI-based solutions more accessible to the public, with RSS3, Akash Network, Nillion, and Whitewater Labs

BrAIniacs Unite! was an exclusive event designed to bridge the gap between AI innovations and the blockchain community through engaging discussions on key industry topics. Our Mark Rydon took to the stage to talk about GPU shortage as a critical issue when it comes to AI development and how Aethir’s decentralized cloud infrastructure uses underutilized GPUs to solve this problem. Mark elaborated on the role of DePINs as Web3 pioneers that can provide cost-effective services on a massive scale, paving the way for a decentralized future. Apart from Aethir, panel participants included representatives of  Akash Network, Exabits, OG Labs, Nimble, Batching.ai, and Google Cloud representatives.

Epoch Seul was the official Infra Day of Korea Blockchain Week 2024, with discussions covering key topics regarding Web3 infrastructure. Aethir and CARV engaged in an exciting panel titled Powering Next-Gen Gaming and AI, where we talked about the importance of decentralized cloud infrastructure and its role in powering tomorrow’s AI and gaming platforms. The speakers dived into the details of how much compute-demanding these industries are and how taking advantage of underutilized GPU capacities can help solve GPU scarcity issues and empower builders to launch innovative AI and gaming projects.

During the Empowering Humanity: Pioneering the Convergence of AI and Web3 dinner event organized by Delysium, our team shared an exquisite rooftop experience with top KOLs, influencers, and community leaders, discussing how the convergence of AI and Web3 is setting new standards for innovation and possibilities.
